Trust should be something you can check.

3 Steps Data is designed around a simple principle:

your data and your relationships should remain yours.

You choose where your Data Vault lives.

You control your Connections.

And we tell you clearly what 3 Steps Data does, what it doesn’t do, and where your control ends.

Your Data Vault. Your control.

You operate it.

Your Data Vault is not a shared 3 Steps Data workspace.

It is your controlled environment for your data and Data Connections.

No back door for us to browse it.

3 Steps Data does not have a general administrative back door that lets us browse the contents of your Data Vault.

We provide the infrastructure underneath it.

We monitor the service. We don’t monitor your Connections.

We monitor the platform to keep it healthy, available and protected from abuse.

That is different from monitoring what individual people are doing through their Connections.

We do not use your Connections to build behavioural profiles.

We do not inspect them for advertising purposes.

We do not monetise the relationships inside them.

Your activity record is there to help you operate your Data Vault, not to help us profile you.

Service health is our responsibility. Your relationships are not our product.

Your data isn’t our business model.

No advertising.

No behavioural profiling.

No selling your data.

No monetising your data.

No harvesting your relationships to create another commercial product.

You pay for the service.

That is the transaction.

Don’t take a Connection link on trust.

When you receive a 3 Steps Data Connection, you can check that the link is genuine before you connect.

Copy the verification token shown on the Connection screen.

Then open the 3 Steps Data Trust Verification page at home.3stepsdata.com/verifytrust and paste in the token. You can follow the link from the screen, or type the address into your browser yourself.

3 Steps Data will tell you whether the Connection link is an authentic 3 Steps Data link.

This verifies the link. It does not verify the identity or trustworthiness of the person, organisation or system at the other end.

Check the link. Then connect.

We tell you what you control, and where that control ends.

You decide who can connect and what they can do through a Connection.

You can give different Connections different permissions.

You can end a Connection when the relationship no longer needs it.

But if you allow someone to download information, the copy they take is outside the Connection.

3 Steps Data cannot control what someone does with a copy after it has been legitimately downloaded.

We would rather make that boundary clear than pretend technology can provide control it does not have.

Resilience should not require surrendering privacy.

3 Steps Data is designed so that service resilience does not require us to freely inspect your data.

Optional disaster-recovery protection can be enabled for a Data Vault.

Where available, the Data Vault owner chooses the backup region.

The same underlying privacy and encryption model continues to apply.

Trust is not a feature we bolt on later.

It shapes how 3 Steps Data is built.

You choose where your data lives.

You control the Connections around it.

We provide the infrastructure.

We do not turn your data, behaviour or relationships into another product.

Your data. Your relationships. Your Connections.
